This website is the product of our enthusiasm for all types of fibre crafts, wood working and fine arts.
When we first became involved in various fibre crafts we were somewhat dismayed to find that the tools we required to carry out these traditional techniques frequently had to be imported and were, even worse, often made in the Far East. This seemed a total contradiction to the whole ethos of handcrafted. This led us to start making our own tools. Having made a few tools for ourselves we found we were being asked by other people to provide them with similar tools and so Turncroft Hall Arts and Crafts was born.
The website shows the range of tools we currently produce, which we intend to add to over time. Some other items in the planning stage include Sprang frames and mould and deckle frames.
All our primary products are made by ourselves using locally sourced materials where available. The only things we don't currently make are the hooks for knitting board weaving and latch hooks as we don't have metal working facilities.
The website shows our standard sizes and specifications of tools, however, as we make everything ourselves we can offer a high degree of customisation if required, so if you don't see exactly what you want, please contact us, we may well be able to help.
The website also features galleries of some of our work in fibre crafts including showing products of the various tools, wood working and fine art photography.
